Faith of Our Fathers

20

I am the fourth generation of born-again Christians on my mother's side of the family. My great-grandfather, H. P. Wildasin and his wife, Laura, were godly Christians who lived out their faith through helping homeless people. They passed their faith down to my grandmother, Erma, and then to my mother, and finally to me. I will never know the full benefit of growing up in such an environment. God used Moses to deliver the Jews from their bondage in Egypt. But He chose two obscure individuals to be the parents of Moses: Amram and Jochebed-- two who had genuine faith in God.. Surrounded by spiritual compromise and engulfed in a moral crisis, they chose to trust God. By faith for three months they hid Moses from death. They exhibited true faith: a faith which sees, that is, it has vision of what could be; a faith which acts, getting involved in God's plan to make the vision a reality; and then a faith that takes risks, involving courage and commitment. They only had a few short years to impart their faith to Moses--and they did! Their faith was passed down to him. We need to have the same kind of genuine faith to pass to our children and grandchildren! A faith that sees, acts, and takes risks!
