Episode 11 | Flipping the 40 Minute Sermon

A common riff is that in a modern age with new strategies for communicating and with new technology, preaching is outmoded. To match the new situation and in order to apply cutting edge educational and communication insights, it is common to hear calls for replacing the sermon with skits, videos, or dialogues. A recent example of this call for the church to get caught up with the times is the appeal to "flip" the sermon out to the congregation and let them sit in small groups and generate the message through group dialogue based upon notes provided by the pastor. As you might guess, Sinners and Saints is not too wild about this idea.
