A Better Sacrifice
Series Hebrews
639 ( 279 | 360 )
Of all the rituals carried on the OT Tabernacle, the writer's main attention in Hebrews 9-10 is on the Day of Atonement. This was the most holy and important day in Israel's worship, on which day the high priest could enter the holy of holies to make atonement for his sins, for those of his family, for the whole of Israel and for the cleansing of the Tabernacle itself. This was all preparatory for the coming of the Son, whose once for all sacrifice cleanses our conscience from dead works.
