Hope

Hope is called the anchor of the soul -- that which holds fast the Christian, keeping him from crashing into the jagged rocks of life. Many Christians find themselves near despair. The Cross they are to bear has become heavy on the shoulder and they are tempted to put it down. Others seemingly have laid it aside already. They seem content to be lukewarm Christians. What do the scriptures say to such people? They point them to their hope in Jesus Christ. This hope, this anchor, will keep the Christian pressing toward the mark.
