Psalm 22 - My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?

Psalm 22 is divided into two sections: the lament of the Forsaken One (v. 1-21) and praise of the multitude (v. 22-31). Christ is forsaken, abandoned by the One He loves most, because God is holy and cannot look on sin. Christ has no sin, but became sin on the cross, taking on Himself the wrath of God His people deserve, being both Just and the Justifier. Redemption is all of Christ, but His people are called to praise Him, to worship Him, and to tell others of Him.
