Bondslaves & Ambassadors Romans 1

25

The book of Romans was written by the Apostle Paul around AD 56-57.

Paul was the greatest missionary that walked this earth apart from Jesus Christ.

Paul’s Calling: Paul says He is a bondservant. In Paul’s day a Bondservant was a slave that was willing to refuse his freedom and remain in the service of His master.

Paul considered himself to be a bond servant of Jesus Christ. He knew that he had been bought with a price.

How much more effective the Church would be today if we lived with this reality.

We are Bondslaves to Jesus. He purchased us with His blood.

My life is not my own..I belong to Christ.
Our eyes are not our own…They belong to Christ.

Our mouths are not our own…Our mouths belong to Christ. So the Words that come out of my mouths should give Glory to God and they will be for the good of others.

Our money is not our own.

Our time is not our own to waste on useless pursuits.
We must live each day for Christ.
Our abilities are not our own.
I must make sure they are captive to Christ.

Our disabilities and our disappointments are not my own I must bring them under Christ.

Not only was Paul a bondservant but he knew that he was called to be an Apostle.

The Word Apostle here means an ambassador. (A sent one)
An ambassador is one that is sent out to another country to represent their home nation. Paul was called as a representative of Heaven to serve His King..The Lord Jesus..as a representative on earth.
