A. AS GOD'S MESSENGER MALACHI URGED THE PEOPLE TO RETURN TO THE LORD.

B. JOHN THE BAPTIST'S COMING

1. He preached repentance in the spirit and power of Elijah.

2. A “latter day prophet” in the likes of Elijah and John the Baptist will come again.

II. TIME: FUTURE IN ISRAEL

A. IN THE LORD'S DAY (4:1)

1. When the sun of righteousness appears (2)

2. When great judgment comes (3)

3. When they remember the law of God (4)

4. God's prophet will come (5,6)

III. PRESENT APPLICATION: HOME REVIVAL

A. THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD MUST FIRST TURN THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS TO GOD.

B. THE RESPONSE OF THE CHILDREN IS TO GIVE THEIR HEARTS TO THEIR FATHERS & FOLLOW HIS EXAMPLE.
