From Grief to Joy

It is good to be given ‘heads-up’ regarding what is just around the corner – to be forewarned is to be forearmed. The disciples are told there is painful grief ahead, a time when they will be all scattered. Their painful grief will turn to unutterable joy.
Jesus will be taken from them for a little while but He will return and no one will take away their joy - the joy of understanding fully what the Son and the Father have accomplished, the joy of coming directly to the Father for all their needs. They will know without a doubt that the Father loves them personally. Finally they are to take heart - Christ has defeated the world! These many reasons for joy are no less ours and give us courage to face whatever the world throws at us!
