An Exposé of Idolatry

The elders before Ezekiel were not bowing before graven images! Rather they had arrived at some awful conclusions about God: (1) “The Lord does not see” which means God no longer cares about His people, and (2) “The Lord has forsaken the land” which means God no longer was faithful to His covenant promises! This was the essence of the idolatry of God’s people at this time. It was from this that their moral, cultural, and national rebellion arose!
