In spite of a visit from God in human form (Theophane, or also called Christophane), Jacob still handles things his own way. We'll see Esau as a type of "the flesh", an example of corruption in new bible versions and complete chapter 33, laying the groundwork for the story of Joseph but only AFTER an ugly incident to come in chapter 34, a funeral in chapter 35 and a summary of Esau's descendants in chapter 36.
