Enough! Take Away My Life! Part 2a

209

Again, discouragement is not a threat to the slothful, but to the diligent. We have a responsibility once we put our hands to the plow not to turn back. As in the days of Elijah, discouragement can strike the strongest of leaders. Exhaustion can be a cause of discouragement. Discouragement leads to disappointment in ourselves. Discouragement can be self-inflicted. When, in our zeal, we take on more than we can handle, the 'accuser of the brethren' is right there, reminding us of our failures and shortcomings when we are too worn to fight. God, who would not forsake his faithful servant, nor answer his request to die, will not forget our labor of love. Be aware, and beware of discouragement.
