Reuben Archer Torrey Sr. (1856-1928) was one of the best known evangelists of his generation. Yet as far as is known by the Archives staff, this is the only audio recording of his voice. It is now available at this Web site. The recording was given to the Archives by his granddaughter, Margaret (Parker) Shank. She spent time with her grandparents as a girl and identified the voice on the recording as her grandfather. The date and circumstances of the recording are not known.
