The soil represents the individual's distinct heart condition, as they relate to the Words of Christ. The four different "cause and effect" reactions depict man's predisposed attitude to the news of the Gospel and how important or not, this news is to them. We can draw many helpful and encouraging truths out of Jesus' teaching in this text. Ps Rod takes us through the first three soils.
