In 1960 almost 7 seven percent of all births were to an unwed mother. By the year 2012, that number rose to an astonishing 41 percent. Which begs a critical question in our day: where have all the fathers gone? And what impact has their absence had on those they left behind?

Decades of research have answered this question, proving what most would recognize as obvious: Children need the presence and guidance of fathers in family life. The more involved a dad is (the research shows) the more successful his children will be.
