Saved Through a Mediator
23
Moses as the picture of our great mediator, Jesus Christ.
The necessity of a mediator
because of their own sin
because of the wrath of God
God’s wrath is just and it is deserved, it is His settled hatred and indignation against sin.
The nature of the mediator
he stands before God on behalf of the people
he is selfless and cared more for the people than for himself
Moses declined his own exaltation so that he could save the people
The nature of his intercession
Moses prayed on the grounds of God’s grace - verse 11
Moses prayed on the grounds of the glory of God - verse 12
Moses prayed on the grounds of the faithfulness of God - verse 13
The success of his intercession
it was successful because God did not destroy the Israelites
it was accomplished before the foundation of the world. - verse 14
