The Wonder of Forgiveness

Many people find Christ’s words in Matthew 6:14-15 confusing. Is Jesus saying that God’s forgiveness of us is predicated upon our forgiveness of others, essentially grounding our salvation in our works? Christ provides a fuller explanation of what He means in Matthew 18:21-35. Those who truly grasp the wonder of God’s forgiveness will be overwhelmed by grace. They will realize that no offense against them could begin to compare with the offenses for which God has forgiven them.
