God Sees The Heart

318 ( 165 | 153 )

The reason why the various instructions are spread throughout this chapter and the book of Proverbs is because we need repetition to learn. We need to keep telling ourselves the truth all day long. Our goal should not be to do or follow those who do foolish things. There are warnings against sloth and laziness. What ever good we do, we are to do it with all our might. What we say can have a profound impact. We are not to let our words become hand grenades. Our words have the power to bring healing or bring harm. One of the greatest lies we are told today is "You can be anything you want to be". We should not be deceitful but we should be honest. A patient man calms a quarrel. God is displeased when we try to stir up fights. When we make mistakes we need to recognize that we are wrong and change course. The cheerful heart has a continual feast. If you are in Christ, the worst thing that can ever happen to you is only temporary and the best day on earth is only a prelude to the joy that is to come. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. The Lord loves those who pursue righteousness. The Lord detests the thoughts wicked and is far from the wicked. If things are right between you and the Lord, you will be okay. You have to deal with God.
