Tolerance & Intolerance #1 - Introduction
Series Tolerance & Intolerance
Tolerance is the buzzword for our generation.
Politicians seem seem almost unable to give a speech without using it, and "Intolerance will not be tolerated!" could be the headline for many a newspaper article on current moral issues.
If you're a Bible-believing Christian it can leave you feeling quite intimidated, since you know that there are certain standards God Himself sets up that cannot be bent for the sake of pleasing society.
Where can Christians turn for Biblical guidance on tolerance and intolerance? Thankfully the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write this chapter to the Corinthians, in which he's correcting them for their tolerance of obvious sin in the church, and for their intolerance of sinners outside the church.
Here's the place to understand how to get the balance right, so that followers of Jesus can be truly holy, without being 'holier-than-thou' and churches can avoid discipline for tolerating sin, while at the same time following Jesus who was the friend of sinners!
