Apostolic Authority Does Not Pass from Man to Man

Paul emphatically states that the gospel comes only from Christ. This message, given to the apostles from Christ, has no alternatives. Even those well intentioned cannot change the gospel, nor can apostleship be handed down. These only come from Christ.
