Acts 4:5-22
Introduction

“But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Now He is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to Him.” (Lk. 20:37-40)

“…they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. (Lk. 21:12-15)

I. Salvation in the Name of Jesus

“The entire message effectively unpacks what the name of Jesus encloses. He is the Servant of the Lord (13, 26); He is the Holy One (14); He is the Righteous One (14); He is the Author of Life (15); He is the Risen One (15, 26); He is the Healer and the source of the powers of the kingdom… (16); He is the Sufferer appointed by God through whom sins may be wiped out (18–19); He is the long-promised Messiah (18); He is the Returning One, through whom God will finally restore everything (20–21); He is the Prophet foretold by Moses (22–23); He is David’s promised heir as foretold by Samuel (24); He is the off spring of Abraham through whom all peoples of the earth will be blessed (25) … It is all Jesus!” Bruce Milne

II. Faith in the Name of Jesus

“I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (Jn. 14:6)
