Unnamed servant a type of God the Holy Spirit

An ordinary sermon that the Holy Spirit used to bring some to faith.

The sermon looks at Abraham's unnamed servant as a type of God the Holy Spirit who will not speak of Himself. The servant was to seek a bride for Isaac so the Holy Spirit seeks the bride of Christ.

The servant shows the riches of his master so the Holy Spirit shows to us and brings to us the riches of Christ.

1 There is a plan - the servant had one and does God;

2 The early movings of the Holy Spirit are not always seen;

3 There is an urgency in this matter - Hinder me not.

4 Rebekah is led all the way home;

5 The work of the servant was dependant on God's dealings with Isaac and Abraham 15 years earlier, so God the Holy Spirit's work is dependant in the saving work of Christ;
