What's in a Greeting?

The greeting in the first two verses of the first chapter of Colossians reveals to us that the author of the letter is Paul, who is an apostle of Jesus and an apostle by the will of God. The greeting also reveals that the recipients of the letter are the Colossians, who are saints, believers, family, and in Christ. And finally, the greeting reveals that the blessing of the letter is rooted and grounded in God--grace from God and peace from God.
