The Sixth Commandment: Honoring of Life by Active Loving

I. God causes His people to reflect His attributes: 1 Peter 2:9

A. God's purpose in saving sinners is to conform them to Jesus

B. This conformity to God is the fruit of the Holy Spirit: Gal. 5:22-23

II. God commands His people to ‘walk in the Spirit' (Gal. 5:16-17, 25)

A. What is meant with this ‘walking in the Spirit?'

B. God exhorts His people to walk in the Spirit … how do you do that?

III. What does God expect from His people in the 6th commandment?

A. He forbids any killing thought, word of action toward my neighbor and myself

B. He commands every loving action to show ‘love to our neighbor'
