A Charge To The Rich

Who are the ‘rich’ that the Apostle talks about? What is the definition of contentment for the children of the LORD? Why is the urgency of the charge to the rich to be faithful to God in preaching the Gospel so imperative? Why is it important to remember that there are poor in this world yet rich in the LORD and those that are rich in this world yet poor in the LORD? Why is it so important to remember Who it is that gave EVERTHING that a person has? Isn’t every child of God rich in the most important things? Why is it futile to trust in anything but what the LORD has provided in His Son the LORD Jesus? How is it that with the heart that man believes in the righteousness that was imputed to chosen sinners at the cross of Christ? How is the LORD rich to all who call upon Him? What does Paul mean when he tells these rich people not to be ‘high-minded’ in their attitude toward others? Are prejudices of race or grace ever acceptable? Does the LORD find it acceptable for one to enjoy the temporal and Spiritual things that He’s given? What does it mean not to labor to be rich? What are uncertain riches? What does it mean to be ‘ready to distribute’ and ‘communicate’? What was the error of the Pharisees when it came to riches? Was not the LORD Jesus a friend of poor, needy sinners? Why does Paul call the preaching of the law vain, useless and unreasonable? If men are glorying in their own wisdom that is not Christ what is the outcome?
