God's Cure for Anxiety (1)

This Sunday's sermon is very much related to last Sunday's teaching against covetousness. To the degree that our hearts are filled with craving for temporal things, to that same degree we will find ourselves overcome by anxiety and worry. The Lord Jesus would have all of His disciples free from this type of worldly care and ambition; instead, we are to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness as a first priority—and trust Him to take care of lesser matters on our behalf. Finding contentment in God alone is both our eternal purpose and greatest quest, and also the cure for anxiety.
