Submit to the Apostolic Authority of Scripture

Just as he began, Paul ends his teaching on worship and the gifts of the Holy Spirit with words regarding women in worship. He then presses the truth that what he has written is the actual Word of God and must be obeyed by all who claim to be followers of Christ.

When Christians dismiss Paul's teaching regarding the roles of men and women in the home and in the church as being culturally limited, they open the door to the practice of ordaining unrepentant homosexuals and lesbians as pastors because the same principles of understanding Scripture are used to justify that practice.
