The key word in this account of Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel is "answer." There are three main things in this episode for us to learn about discerning which religion has the answers.
1-It is possible for a religion to be popular and not be true.
2-It is possible for a religion to move the emotions and still not be true.
3-True religion is based upon objective truth and objective demonstrations of the power and presence of God.
