III. The Lord: Glorious in Holiness (vs. 11-18)

A. Who is Like the Lord God? (vs. 11-12)

B. Set Himself Apart to Work out His Covenant to His People – two aspects or sides of one continuous work (v. 13)

• In Mercy The Lord has Led Out His Redeemed People from Bondage (v. 13a)
• “In Your Mercy” cf. “My father’s God” (v. 2; Exodus 3:7-8)
• The Same as What Happens In Christ (Ephesians 2:1-5; Deuteronomy 7:7-8)
• In His Strength The Lord has Guided His Redeemed People to His Holy Habitation (v. 13b)

• He Delivered His People with a Purpose – to Guide Them to a Place Set Apart for Them (Jeremiah 2:6-7)

  • The Same as What Happens In Christ (Philippians 1:6; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
    • Confidence in the Lord’s Constant Guidance (Exodus 15:23-25; 16:11-15; Deuteronomy 29:5; Numbers 21:21ff)
    • Ingratitude will lead to “trashing” His “Holy Habitation” (Jeremiah 2:7b; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Conclusion and Application
• Look to the Lord to Guide Us
• The Lord is glorious in holiness, set apart from all creation, and set apart to a people that He has redeemed from bondage; who also keeps them ‘til the day that their salvation is perfected in Christ in heaven, the ultimate “Holy habitation”
