Mark 12:35-44: The Son, the Scribes, and a Widow

Jesus sees a widow make a sacrificial offering to the Temple treasury - two mites, the equivalent of a penny - and tells his apostles that this widow has given more than the wealthiest man. Jesus speaks to the fact that the widow's mites were all the earthly treasure she owned; she has truly served God over herself.
