Our Father, Loving Discipline

We are considering what it means to have God as our Father, not just as our God. As a Father, He is committed to raising us up the right way. He is committed to our character formation and to our future. He intends to have us stand before Him one day holy and blameless. In order to achieve that objective, He disciplines us. He will not leave us to ourselves to raise ourselves as orphans. He will not let us get our own way like spoiled brats. He will chasten us and scourge us for our good, and this will bring a harvest of righteousness.
