Set Free Into God's Glory

68

The Uighurs are innocent men imprisoned by our government, which refuses to obey a court order to bring them to court so they can be set free.

But nobody can stop our Lord Jesus from setting His people free! No technicalities can thwart His determination to redeem us!

Jesus sets free guilty people, because He paid the entire penalty for our sins at Calvary.

So great are our Lord Jesus' excellencies, that it is impossible to adequately portray all the contrasts between Himself and the works of fallen men.

A final comparison: the government claims the Uighurs aren't fit to be set free in America, because they have training in weapons, and they revolted against their communist oppressors in China who murder their babies in the womb.

How sad that such qualities, which helped found our own country, are now seen as bars to citizenship by our government today! No doubt King George III would have agreed!

But the wonder is, that the Saints are not only set free, though we were all guilty, but we are set free in the very presence of the Glory of God Himself!

Our Lord Jesus' blood cleanses us of all unrighteousness, so that former sinners are fit to come into the Holy presence of God!

Now God embraces His people, calls us sons, and heirs of a great inheritance!

It would have been enough had He set us free and left us alone, but no! He has brought us into the family of God!

It is all too much for us to take in! It is an astounding love displayed for poor sinners by our great God!

Jesus promised, at the Lord's Supper, that one day we would feast with Him in His Father's Kingdom! He has given us so much what we did not deserve, hallelujah!
