A. The Neccesity of the cross Declared

B. The Motivation of the cross Defined
1. God is entirely self-sufficent (Exodus 3:14)
2. God is entirely sovereignly free (Daniel 4:34-35)
3. God's salvation is a gratuitus gift (Romans 3:23-24, 5:12-17)
4. God's salvation is derived from His sovereign will (Romans 9:1-24)

Applicaiton
The fact that God was not obliged to save sinners...

1. It should produce in us a Sense of Wonder, Awe, and Praise
2. It should produce in us a Genuine Gratitude to God
3. It should produce in us an Awareness of Our Need
