Who Is John Harper? What one man did for the souls of men

Before we start, our pastor has to correct something he said last week:

Now, on with the introduction. The Woman, Eve, was the first human to repent of her unbelief. Who's witnessing the repenting of her unbelief? Then there’s the sentencing of Satan, and then the lake of fire was created. Who's that spectacle for?

And last week we had a refusal to repent in Revelation 9, and that's why we went back to the first to repent. What do they need to get them to repent? How do you get an evil heart to repent? Pastor gets into a few verses that have to do with this. I think you'll find it enlightening to say the least.

But there's more... and we haven't even gotten to the lecture yet. Some who listen will run out of the class screaming. We like causing that response. It's fun.

The actual lecture today, believe it or not, is the true story of John Harper. What? You’ve never heard of him? Blame Hollywood. Okay, I'll give you a hint. He was coming to America from Scotland to take over the pulpit after Dwight L. Moody passed away. Still nothing? Okay... I'll give you another hint. "Dance Band on the Titanic" There... that should do it for you. No? Well then, you'll just have to listen to the story. This is the first time our pastor has told this account at Cliffside.
