02-Baptism in Romans

As I have shown elsewhere, 1 baptism is the hinge in Paul’s
argument in Romans. 2 Not only that; baptism is the crucial
turning point in the believer’s experience of redemption. It must
be. After all, this is precisely the point Paul himself made. He
clearly directed his readers to the importance of baptism:
Don’t you know that all of us who were baptised into Christ
Jesus were baptised into his death? We were therefore buried
with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ
was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too
may live a new life
