Gate Management

Do we believe it is in our own power to manage the doors of our hearts? Have we been able to--in and of ourselves--properly vet the mob of diabolical thoughts wishing to reside in our hearts? What about the existing sin-filled residents ...do we have the authority to evict them at will?
We can realize that the Power which is entirely greater than we will ever be will be necessary for us to lean on for both managing those would-be entrants as well as for evicting the existing occupants?
We must surrender the beliefs that we have power to manage our thought-life and then turn that management over to God.
