Absolutely No Excuse

47

Man left God; therefore, God left man. At the beginning of chapter two, Paul moves from the indictment of the unrighteous to the indictment of the self-righteous...to the ones who hate to see all the sins he's mentioned. The moralist, who knows the truth and knows what's wrong.

God sets the standard of how He judges. Judgment will be according to God's truth. Make sure you know the truth of God's Word because that's His standard and that is how you will be judged.

We are all guilty. Don't trust in your goodness or lack of badness to get you to Heaven. Don't trust in what you do, trust in what has been done for you.

There's no escape in God's courtroom. All things are naked in His sight. God's judgment is inescapable, you are inexcusable, and you're in a heap of trouble. But we can have our case settled out of court! There is a lawyer who actually took our place. We have an Advocate. He died for my sin. He pleads my case. He put His righteousness in my account. There is therefore now no condemnation for me!

"How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?"
