- The challenges of the Christian life are wisely seen as warfare. We are war with our own flesh. We are at war with the spirit of this age. We are at war with the Satan our adversary.
- A warfare footing for the Christian implies an appropriate experience of stress, burden, struggle. Our songs should reflect this reality and they don't.
- It is against this reality of War that the peace, gentleness and righteousness of the Christian stands out in bold relief.
There is three ways in which the Christian could teach false hood to the age they live in.
A. If they suggested there was not true battle going on.
B. If they gave the impression that this battle was on no great concern.
C. If they didn't exude peace and gentleness... and confident trust still the same.
