Prophecy is superior to tongues

Continuing in our study of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we come today to 1 Corinthians 14, where we are taught about the superiority of prophecy to tongues.

The impartation of Biblical truth is essential to growth in Christ, and it is a central reason why the Church assembles. Without basic knowledge of the Word of God, we simply will not make it in deceptive and perilous times.

The impartation of Christian truth is also the foundation of a good home. As a little boy, Timothy was taught the Word of God by his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice (2 Timothy 3:15), and in this way they imparted the faith that they had to little Timothy (2 Timothy 1:5).

The failure to teach the great doctrines of the Bible in both the home, the school, and the church is the root cause behind our national crises.
