The Spirit World, Part 2-Angels

465

Topic: Angels: there are two groups of angels and we will talk about the Holy angels that administer God's will. Overall view of angels: good and bad angels. Then we'll go on to other beings. The word “Angels” is mentioned 297 times in the bible, so they are a very important entity. The definition of “Angel” is “messenger”. They are beings created by God to be His messengers.

Psalms 148:1-5: How did the angels get here? God spoke them into existence a long, long time ago, before the earth was formed.

Colossians 1:15-17: talking about Christ here. Firstborn means he was first of all, the all was created from Him. This includes the angelic world. EVERYTHING exists to serve Christ our Lord. Angels are limited in power and authority by God. They don't die; they can materialize themselves at the discretion of God. They bring messages and interpret visions. They release prisoners. They control the forces of nature. They fight other spirits and angels, good against bad. They even kill. We are not supposed to worship angels, only God.

Hebrews 12:22: There are an innumerable company of angels.

Hebrews 13:1: Be careful how you entertain strangers, because one may be an angel.

1/3 of the angels rebelled and went with Lucifer. This tells us angels have a free will. They are called the fallen angels today. They all want to dethrone God.

In the bible, there are only three angels mentioned by name. These are: Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer...
