Repent

Repentance has fallen on hard times. Have we become like Judah, telling our pastors, 'Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things?' (Isa 30:10). Read the church growth literature. Watch television preachers. Discover 40 days of purpose for your life. And never hear a word about repentance. God commands Judah to 'turn' (Isa 31:6). This single verse may be the pivotal moment in the history of a nation. To 'turn' is to repent. God does not see repentance as pass. No message is more desperately needed in our own day. Will we have the courage to listen to the prophets?
