In the Heavenlies

129 ( 49 | 80 )

By the power of the Holy Spirit who unites us with the Lord Jesus Christ, every Christian is already seated in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6; 1:19-20; 1:3).

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there (Philippians 3:19-20)

According to Hebrews 12:22-24, when we worship the Lord on earth, we are transported to heaven and join with angels and believers who have died in one great assembly that transcends time and space.

Therefore, down here we are pilgrims and strangers (Hebrews 11:13; 1 Peter 2:11), and we seek a better country, the heavenly city (Hebrews 13:14).

If God opened our eyes as he did Elisha's servant's in 2 Kings 6:17, we would be overwhelmed with the unseen hosts who surround us now.

2 Timothy 2:4 reminds us that we are in Lord's army and nothing must be allowed to come between us and our ability to share the Lord Jesus Christ with others.

Believers may serve in the military of whatever nation they may find themselves (Luke 3:14), but our ultimate allegiance is to Christ alone.
