Genesis 39 - Joseph the Chosen One

Israel has planned to select Joseph to be his replacement as patriarch and publicly announced this when he gave Joseph his 'coat'. This coat was not of many colors but was designated by a special hem announcing to everyone that this was the new 'father' of the clan. That the brothers, who were men, were angry is an understatement. I am surprised that they did not seek to kill him earlier.
