Disabling the Obstacles of Hostility.1 Peter 3:13-17If you have been a dedicated Christian for any length of time, you know that there are all kinds of opposition that you face as a believer. Peter addresses some of that opposition in this portion of this epistle. He tells us how to overcome the obstacles of opposition. Because Christ suffered unjustly so that people might be saved, so believers ought to patiently endure unjust suffering because such an attitude is a powerful witness that could lead unbelievers to Christ. Sometimes we suffer for right because it is part of God's will for our lives. He allows the suffering so that He will be glorified in us. Therefore, we should be sensitive to why we are suffering and be surrendered to the Lord's will for us. A trial or crisis creates the opportunity for witnessing when a believer behaves with faith and hope. Unbelievers tend to sit up and take notice in difficult times. How many times have we created unnecessary problems for ourselves because we did not respond the right way to other people?
