Let Us Go Out

The call here is to go outside the camp to Jesus, bearing his reproach. When Judaism rejected the revelation of God at Sinai in favor of their golden calf, they were required thereafter to go outside the camp to approach God at the tabernace as a reminder of that rejection. Also, the bodies of those animals offered on the Day of Atonement were to burned outside the city. So, when Judaism rejected Christ and his sacrifice he was crucified outside the camp. We now must go outside of any form of man-made religion that would draw us back to "temples," "priestly mediation" "sacrifices" and so on. We are to go out of those things and to Christ, our only High Priest, in reliance upon His perfect sacrifice alone. He will not be found within man-made religion.
