Putting Prophecy in Context

On this week’s edition of “Encounter God’s Truth,” we open Part 5 of “Zechariah: The LORD Remembers.” In this new series we will rehearse some of the major points of this prophetic book, and we will also think about how they relate to several key themes of Bible prophecy in general.
In this first message of the series, we re-visit Dr. Whitcomb’s introductory remarks about Zechariah. If you are able, we encourage you to follow along in your own Bible as he gives the background about the place of this book both within its Old Testament context, and also within our understanding of Biblical prophecy.
Zechariah will teach us so much about the Lord’s still-future work in restoring the nation of Israel in the coming millennial kingdom—just as God has promised and His prophets have predicted. Although it is listed among the Minor Prophets, this is truly a great book.
