Expectancy at the Cross
Series Romans 8 Series
178
When the inspired Apostle turned his attention to that which awaited the people of God, he focused on the glory that would be revealed at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The argument was that the expectation of that glory that is going to be revealed in the Lord's people becomes the context in which the Lord's people can judge their suffering in their mortal bodies, whether that suffering is the result of persecution or not. Paul's thesis is that, because of the redemption wrought by Christ on the cross, the people of God have their destiny settled and can live in hope.
