Confessing Christ and Confessed by Christ

In Matt 10, Jesus is instructing His disciples before sending them out as witnesses for Him. He has spoken much about persecution and fear. But in vv32-33 He pauses to encourage them that he who confesses Christ before men will be confessed before the Father by Him.

These famous verses are instructive and encouraging for us to be witnesses for Christ (the disciples represent the Church--so their instruction is largely ours!). And they are a warning to both the Christian and the non-Christian.
