What Pilate knew

We have before us today a man who was thrown into the mix. The Jewish leaders had an ax to grind against him but at the moment all they wanted was to use him to do their dirty work. Pilate was hated by the Jews because he was Roman and represented the occupying force of Rome. Jesus on the other hand represented a very real threat to their power and that they couldn't stand so they brought Him to Pilate to have Jesus crucified. For his part Pilate took one look at what was going on and figured out some things pretty quick.
