The Thrust of the Gospel

Brother Barnard talks about Gospel preaching, and this is one subject on which our late brother was an authority. God used him mightily at times in the awakening and conversion of many souls.

This message is based on the experience of Cornelius in Acts chapter 5. Cornelius is an example of true Bible conversion. Christ is presented to him as a Prince and a Saviour.

We must present our Lord:

1. WHERE HE IS NOW (on the Throne).
2. HOW HE GOT THERE (by way of a cruel but sin-atoning Cross).
3. DEMAND THAT MEN REPENT AND BOW TO HIM!

In Gospel preaching, we cannot tell men universally, "Christ died for you." But we can tell them, whoever they might be, "HE IS YOUR LORD!" The emphasis needed in our preaching is the ABSOLUTE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST. And it is as men become acquainted with this Exalted One that they will find the LORD JESUS CHRIST as a Saviour.

A vital message for any evangelist, Bible teacher, or preacher. Turn the volume UP and be prepared for God to speak to you through His old prophet who has been in glory over 40 years!
