2Cor018 A Weak Ministry

In an age when too many churches look like mini shopping malls and too many pastors craft their image too look like celebrities, Paul's message of a weak gospel ministry urgently needs to be heard. Instead of being characterized by power and glamour, Paul says that the ministry has been deposited in earthen vessels who carry about the death of Christ in their bodily sufferings. Subjected to constant afflictions, persecutions, and beat downs, ministers manifest the death of Christ through their sufferings so that the life of Christ is set forth for salvation. This weakness of Christian ministry is by divine design so that it will be made evident that the power of God is behind the saving effect of the ministry of the gospel.
